>> DAVS 2020 has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. (June, 2020)
The next edition will take place in 2021, format to be announced.
>> Due to the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak, DAVS 2020 has been postponed until further notice (March, 2020)
Given the recent developments, it is inevitable to cancel the DAVS. The restrictions are becoming stricter; it is not foreseeable where we will be in two weeks, but it is very likely that meetings such as the DAVS will no longer be possible. In addition, we as virologists have a far-reaching responsibility for keeping the situation manageable.
It is ironic that, after having taken place 28 years without interruption, the DAVS has to be cancelled due to a coronavirus.
At this stage, it’s difficult to predict how long the restrictions will last. As soon as there is a clear view, we can think about a new date. We will inform you about this in good time.
It is a pity, but there is no other option.
We wish everyone a lot of strength in the coming period.
With kindest regards,
Monique van Oers, Jolanda Smit, Raoul de Groot and Emmanuel Wiertz
